The Jewellery Quarter Academy Choir will be representing the school at the Jewellery Quarter Christmas Lights switch-on event on Friday 16th November at The Golden Square on Warstone Lane.
The event, organised by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID), will begin at 4:30pm with the Jewellery Quarter Academy Choir singing carols. Following this, a live entertainment stage hosted by Free Radio Birmingham will feature performances from a LED Ballerina dance troupe and the Bombshell Belles.
Record-breaking artist Willard Wigan MBE will be this year’s special guest, who’ll be switching on the bespoke jewellery-themed lights and Christmas tree. Willard is known for being the creator of the world’s smallest handmade sculptures of all-time. A recreation of the Coronation Crown was commissioned for Queen Elizabeth II, which is set on the head of a pin.
A firework display from the top of The Big Peg building will bring the switch-on festivities to a close, allowing visitors to enjoy mulled wine, other Christmassy beverages, and tasty treats from local street food vendors Bournville Waffle Company and Canoodle Catering. The event is a great showcase of the local independent businesses and community that populates the Jewellery Quarter, of which Jewellery Quarter Academy sits at the heart of.
We can’t wait to watch the Jewellery Quarter Academy Choir take the spotlight.
