JQA Election day

At Jewellery Quarter Academy, we are committee to creating a culture of voting and democracy. On Tuesday 13th February we held our second ‘JQA Election Day’ where all pupils and sta had the opportunity to vote all the ‘Cabinet’ roles (inclulding ‘Prime Minister’ and ‘Chancellor of Exchequer’). To put themselves forward, pupils had to choose what role they wish to apply for, and then start “campaigning” to ensure they get as many votes as possible. Most pupils chose to do this by producing posters and other literature to get their key messages out to the rest of the school. On the day of the Election, pupils were going into a voting booth and casting their votes on the ballot slips available. The results of the votes will be revealed to all pupils after Half Term.
